Space tourism is no longer science fiction. In 2026, spaceports are the new airports, only the stress (and delight) level here is 100 times higher. Lobby design must soothe and inspire simultaneously. We explore 'New Space' aesthetics: white glossy surfaces, Zaha Hadid-style fluid lines, no right angles, and fireproof materials. The lobby here is the airlock between Earth and Sky.
Bionics and Fluidity
In space, there is no up or down. In the terminal, we simulate this sensation. Reception desks 'grow' out of the floor, walls merge seamlessly into the ceiling. We use Corian and GFRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) to create seamless surfaces. This fluidity subconsciously prepares the tourist's vestibular system for weightlessness. White dominates, symbolizing purity and a fresh start.
Biometrics: Invisible Control
Check-in by Glance
There are no queues at a spaceport. The reception is needed only for psychological support. All registration happens via on-the-fly face and iris scanning. Admin desks are 'help islands' staffed by employees in futuristic uniforms. Health scanners are built into furniture, invisibly measuring guest pulse and temperature, filtering out those too anxious.
